Correction[edit]

As the original page was incorrectly titled, and as the title could not be modified, I had to copy the whole page into this new page with the correct title ('Centre for Applied Nonviolent Action and Strategies' instead of 'Centre for Applied Non Violent Actions and Strategies'). I then had to create a redirect from the original page into the new one.

POV[edit]

Today, the article says nothing about U.S. funding of Canvas and how the organization reports to Stratfor, as revealed by the Wikileaks documents. For the articles neutrality, the question of funding and intelligence activity is relevant. It is a relevant part of the organizations characteristics and the fact that Carvas do infiltrate movements and organizations. Dnm (talk) 08:59, 24 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

CANVAS does not receive funding from an government and never has. They have always stated that this is their policy and there is no evidence to prove otherwise. The Wikileaks documents in question do not show that CANVAS "reports to" Stratfor. It merely showed general communications between one CANVAS staff member and some people who work for Stratfor.Dwightkschrute91 (talk) 09:36, 18 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I removed the neutrality notice, as the above issues have been addressed in detail and this discussion has been dormant since 2014. Joriki (talk) 07:45, 4 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Clenched fist old hat[edit]

I'm compelled to register my amusement at all the fuss made in this article about the clenched fist emblem which is attributed to Otpor or CANVAS or both -- whatever. The symbol has actually been around at least since the '60s, when it was everywhere, widely used by Vietnam war protesters and the "Black Power" movements. I won't edit the article on this point... but it's pretty funny. Especially the story of the "boyfriend" who claims to have designed it! alacarte (talk) 16:53, 15 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
