Accent in Cardcaptors?

Is Kero really supposed to have a New York accent in Cardcaptors? From what I remember, the "accent" is just how Matt Hill's voice usually sounds, but haven't watched any of the Cardcaptors dub in a while (I do have it with the first movie). EmperorBrandon 23:18, 11 April 2006 (UTC)

The voice actor who did Kero in Japanese speaks with an Osakan accent, which is a little more brusque and gregarious than that of Tokyo, so a Brooklynite accent might be appropriate. Chris 00:12, 12 April 2006 (UTC)
ps-I'd like to see an article on that particular voice actor, but he is really private. Chris 00:12, 12 April 2006 (UTC)

Statistics

All this information comes from the manga itself. Every few chapters, CLAMP adds a sidebar with these facts. Sort of an official mini-profile for each of their characters. I think it gives them more personality to have these likes and dislikes, so it's important to their overall characterization. ...Other character articles have this section, and it's a generally short list, too. --Crisu 22:16, 3 May 2006 (UTC)

Ok, I agree improtant things should stay, but can you find the sentence "Least Favorite Food: Anything bitter" in any way improtant/informative/encyclopedic? Psychomel@di(s)cussion 02:17, 4 May 2006 (UTC)

Brat vs little girl

I suppose "little girl" is a more correct literal translation. But Pioneer/Geneon's release of the series uses the term "brat." I'm not necessarily saying the subtitles are meant to be the official term, but I think it's the one most people know. --Crisu 03:58, 1 September 2006 (UTC)

Cat?

Fictional cats? Is he really a cat? --Galaxiaad 22:57, 18 September 2006 (UTC)

In his true form, he resembles a "big cat" (on the Japanese Wikipedia, it says like a lion or tiger), despite his name (mythologically, Cerberus is a dog). If the category is too ambiguous, it can be removed though. I don't really care too much either way on it. --EmperorBrandon 00:36, 19 September 2006 (UTC)

Seiyu

I don't know where to put it in the article, but his true form is voiced by Masaya Onosaka in the original Japanese. Aya Hisakawa does voice his borrowed form... Ranma9617 21:21, 19 September 2006 (UTC)

I really think the best place to put that information is in an infobox, but we don't have that for the Cardcaptor Sakura characters... Otherwise, I guess just at the start of the article, mentioned right after Aya Hisakawa. --EmperorBrandon 22:35, 19 September 2006 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:CCS Kero02.jpg

Image:CCS Kero02.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Misspelling?

Kero's name isn't spelled correctly in japanese. It's spelled here as "keroberosu", but it's supposed to be spelled "keruberosu". The first "ro" needs to be changed to a "ru". I don't know how to get japanese fonts to work myself, does anyone else know how to fix it? --3loodlust 11:38, 4 January 2008 (UTC)

I'll give you a 'ru', but are you sure it's spelled that way? [katakana ru (, ru)] --Chininazu12 07:54, 5 January 2008 (UTC)

Possible Misinformation

I noticed when I was glancing over this article that there's a strange bit of information in the category about 'character and role'. It says that at one point Cerberus mistook Kaho Mizuki for Yue's temporary form, but I'm not sure if that's correct. I think it may be referring to several scenes in volume five, chapter three of the manga, in which both characters are stuck together in the darkness created the Dark card. Cerberus brings the topic of Yue up several times, but he always refers to him in the third person, and as if her were explaining to Mizuki rather than accusing her. I don't want to change the article until I can be sure, can someone confirm one way or another? The same piece of information is on Mizuki's page as well. 3loodlust (talk) 22:00, 1 March 2008 (UTC)

Tags

I'm afraid that I don't see any justification for some of the recent tags placed on this article. I can understand tagging the article for it's mostly in-universe style, as well as the tag for the lack of references (a situation I'm currently in the process of remedying). However, I'm rather confused as to why the article is tagged for having a lengthy plot summary (in my opinion it does not), and am curious about the debate over its notability. I'm currently re-vamping this page in an attempt to bring it up to scratch, and I would appreciate it if someone could give me their opinions on why these tags should be here and how they propose to fix the problem so that I can do any necessary corrections. 3loodlust (talk) 20:16, 28 April 2008 (UTC)

It is tagged for plot for a similar reason it is tagged for excessive in-universe, the article consists almost entirely of plot regurgitation, and excessive at that. See some recent character GAs for an idea of how the plot aspects should be, and how they should be balanced with real-world information. The question over notability is because the article completely fails WP:FICT. In order to pass the notability requirement for having a stand alone character article Kero must have received significant coverage in non-primary, reliable sources, enough that the article can be roughly half real-world information such as concept/creation, reception, and appearances in other media. Again, see some recent character GAs for examples of those sections. It is tagged for confusion because it is wrongly named. He is named Keroberos in the English manga and anime releases, so per our MoS, that is the name the article should use, and no other. There is, in fact, no real support for naming it Cerberus except to try to tie it to the Greek mythology, but a rename discussion needs to be held separately (and I've started it on the main CCS talk page). It also has this tag for the bad image choice, and some of the prose needs rewriting for better clarity. Finally, for clean up, the formatting is wrong for a character article. Brat vs. Kid Debate

I notice that there has been some debate recently on the translations for 'kozou' and 'komusume', Kero's nicknames for Syaoran and Meiling. At first the page had the translation for 'kozou' as 'kid' and 'komusume' as 'brat', but now it's changed so that they are both translated as the latter. How are we going to translate these words? Personally I think either 'brat' or 'kid' could work for 'kozou', and that 'little girl' would be more appropriate for 'komusume', but what does everyone else think? 3loodlust (talk) 20:37, 15 June 2008 (UTC)
