A couple of points and thoughts:

First, why is this in the business portal. This designation is for government, not business. It would make sense to add this to a government portal and an accounting portal if either exist.

Second, is this the only government finance certification in Wikipedia? There are at least two others which should have articles describing them since their national, and at least one more local certification that probably should have an article. The two national certifications are Certified Public Finance Officers Program (http://www.gfoa.org/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=281&Itemid=167) and the Certified Government Auditing Professional (https://na.theiia.org/certification/CGAP-Certification/Pages/CGAP-Certification.aspx). Both of these are national certifications, set up by major national professional organizations. The local one is roughly equivalent to the CPFO but is limited to the State of Florida, the Certified Government Finance Officer Program (http://www.fgfoa.org/CGFOprogram.aspx?CNID=4369). As a rough equivalent to the CFPO, I could see including it as part of the same article.

The real reason I even found this article is that I was preparing a class for some foreign nationals about governmental finance in the United States, and I was hoping that Wikipedia -- the fount of all human knowledge -- would include information about the other state equivalents to the CPFO. I know that several other states had such designations, but knew nothing other than that. I still don't.Fredrik Coulter (talk) 13:49, 16 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
