Assessment[edit]

There I was reading along thinking, "Yep, easy B class", then I got to the References section and found just one lonely citation sitting there crying. It was so sad. --Colputt 02:31, 1 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Taiwan[edit]

To Whom it may concern,

Re: L-19 and O-1 had been used by Taiwan Army and Marine

   Corps during 1963 - 2000

I've noticed that this fact have probably been ignored at your good records about this great Bird Dog. I looked at the list of countries which have been recorded, South Korea, Japan, South Vietnam, Indonesia. However, I did not find out Taiwan (formerly recognized as Republic of China by USA before Dec. of 1979).

Lots of Bird Dogs were sent by USA to Taiwan in early 1960s, They took same duties as what they did in US Army and Marine Corps. Helicopters have widely used by Army instead since late 1970s, so most of Bird Dogs have been grounded.

Best Regards, Chen

Additional Photo[edit]

I have an additional photo, which I uploaded to the Commons, of an O-1/L-19, taken in the Republic of Vietnam in 1968. I'll leave it up to others to decide whether it would be an addition to the article or not, and where it should go. -Kadin2048 17:44, 8 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Looks good. It probably belongs with the Operational history section. Can you write a caption for it? Bzuk 17:49, 8 July 2007 (UTC).[reply]

Notable flights[edit]

Does anyone know why it was necessary to push the helicopters overboard in order to clear the deck so that the Bird Dog could land? He had said he had fuel for an hour, so why not have the helicopters take off, land the Bird Dog, then have the helicopters land again on the carrier?Bill (talk) 00:22, 4 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
