Jewish?[edit]

How can Charles Buchwald be Jewish? His parents were August Detlev Friis (von) Buchwald (1830-1906), owner of the estate Friisholt, and Johanne Marie Charlotte von Arenstorff (1847-1901), and her parents were Johannes Frederik von Arenstorff (1816-1873) and Anna Sophie Cathrine Elisabeth Juliane de Jermiin (1827-1900). Jermiin's parents were Thomas Just de Jermiin, owner of the estate Ausumgård (1786-1857), and Sophie Elisabeth Wolff (1795-1834). Her parents were Lars Peder Wolff and Christiane Marie Nielsen. Both Buchwald, Arenstorff, and Jermiin are Danish noble families.

The author of Jews and the Olympic Games: The Clash Between Sport and Politics must have interpreted "Buchwald" erroneously as a Jewish name. --Urbandweller (talk) 22:45, 4 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
