Princess Amelia and FitzRoy[edit]

Surely some mention of their relationship is needed, given his apparent importance in her life? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.1.141.180 (talk) 13:03, 13 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

"Sir Charles FitzRoy"[edit]

The wikipedia articles on Lord George Lennox, Charles FitzRoy, 1st Baron Southampton and Princess Amelia of the United Kingdom referred to this officer as "Hon. Sir Charles FitzRoy". I believe this to be incorrect. The index to Shaw's Knights of England (subtitled "A Complete Record from the Earliest Time to the Present Day of the Knights of all the Orders of Chivalry in England, Scotland, and Ireland, and of Knights Bachelors") shows that at the time of publication in 1906 there had only ever been three Charles FitzRoys who were knighted: Charles FitzRoy, 2nd Duke of Cleveland (KG 1673), Charles FitzRoy, 2nd Duke of Grafton (KG 1721) and Charles Augustus FitzRoy (Kt 1837, KCB 1854).
