responsible use of tags[edit]

Another contributor added several {{Failed verification}} tags for material that was clearly in the provided reference. I removed these bogus tags. Geo Swan (talk) 10:28, 10 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Plese don't attack other editors and their tags, when it is actually the article that is wrong. He e.g. didn't work as a "Radio Intercept Officer", but as a "Radar Intercept Officer". And was he really in the "Judge Advocate Corps"? Or was he a Judge Advocate in the Marine Corps? Please be more careful before removing tags, and WP:AGF that there is a good reason for them. Another contributor added a {{Failed verification}} tag when a referenced citation couldn't be found. I replaced it with a {{Dead link}} tag. Geo Swan (talk) 14:04, 10 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I was looking for your dead link replacement, but think I must have started editing before you finished, possibly. I didn't see where you did that. Think you were talking about the cite given from the Honolulu Advertiser about Pfc. Richmond. I corrected the dead link, but left failed verification. When the original person who tagged it did so, it may not have been a dead link, so the FV tag would have been appropriate. It was over a year ago when it was tagged. Second, I think perhaps they tagged it because the wording in the table now seems to imply that Gittins represented him at the military hearings, but the article reads like Gittins was just hired after Richmond was released and dishonorably discharged. So that's probably why they tagged it that way. Those sentences might need to be re-worded or expanded on some. Maybe a newer article on Richmond would help. Thank you. -- JoannaSerah (talk) 17:06, 10 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
