Thomas Throckmorton[edit]

Hi LadyMeg,

Yesterday you replaced Thomas Throckmorton with Francis Throckmorton in this sentence:

After this, Charles Paget, in conjunction with Morgan and other malcontents at home and abroad, continued their plans, which were well known to the English government, and in June 1584 Sir Edward Stafford, the English ambassador to the French court, made a formal demand, in the name of Queen Elizabeth, for the surrender of Thomas Paget, Charles Paget, Charles Arundel, Francis Throckmorton, and Thomas Morgan for having conspired against the life of the English Queen.

I didn't write the original sentence, which still requires a citation for verification, but the original editor must have been correct in stating that it was Thomas Throckmorton, as according to the National Archives (see [1]), Francis Throckmorton had been arrested in England for his part in the Babington plot in November 1583 and was executed in July 1584. It must thus have been Thomas Throckmorton whom the Queen wanted returned to England from France in June 1584. Accordingly, I've replaced Francis with Thomas in the article again. There was a disambiguation notice beside Thomas' name. He still needs to be differentiated from other Thomas Throckmortons. NinaGreen (talk) 18:36, 2 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
