Date of Knighthood[edit]

It seems that the London Gazette entry is conclusive. The knighthood was awarded 14 August 1947 and gazetted 1 January 1948. Differing reports can be disregarded, including that of Leigh Rayment who reports 28 July 1948 (http://www.leighrayment.com/knights/knightsotray.htm) Rupert Butler (talk) 13:04, 25 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Photograph[edit]

Surely this photograph is of a different Charles Pawsey? The original uncropped photograph states that it is Corporal Charles Pawsey of the 21st Manchester Regiment. However, the articles refers to Charles Pawsey who was a Lieutenant, then Captain, of the Worcestershire Regiment. Luis de Avendaño (talk) 07:28, 12 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, that puzzled me, too, but we find so many errors on amateur genealogical blogs that I tend to give priority and preference to the properly researched material in the articles. If we could find another picture of Pawsey from another source, or evidence that there were two Charles Pawseys in those two regiments, then maybe that will help to resolve the question?
