Suggested updates to the Charlotte, Vermont page[edit]

In looking at this page and other pages related to Charlotte, I offer the following discussion:

  • Something should be added to "Media" about the Charlotte News. We had a COI editor insert some text, but while that text was reverted, it brings up a good point. The Charlotte News is a nonprofit, community-based newspaper that has been continuously publishing in Charlotte since 1958.[1] To me that satisfies WP:N and should be mentioned.
  • There is an article out there for Charlotte Meeting House that could perhaps be mentioned on this page in some way. I'm just not entirely sure how it might fit into existing sections.
  • The demographic data in "Demographics" is now over 20 years old as it dates from the 2000 Census. That section should be updated, but right now it makes sense to wait until whenever the 2020 Census results are published.

If I get some time to add these kind of updates, I will, but if any other editors want to do so, please do! - Dyork (talk) 22:31, 12 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Added section about The Charlotte News - but could use some good other sources[edit]

I added a mention of The Charlotte News to the Media section, because I do believe it should be mentioned there. However, I could only find primary sources. A challenge with searching is that there was also another paper, The Charlotte News in Charlotte, North Carolina, which has many references. Ideally it would be good to find mentions about The Charlotte News in, for instance, other Vermont media sites, or sites writing about Vermont media. - Dyork (talk) 02:04, 24 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Pronunciation[edit]

I just added a note on the unusual pronunciation of Charlotte, VT (CharLOTTE rather than CHARlotte). I think it's significant enough: of the many other places named after Queen Charlotte, this appears to be the only one pronounced this way. Mark Asread (talk) 16:24, 7 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Demographics section needs updating to 2020 census[edit]

The Demographics section has data from the 2000 census. The info box and other areas have been updated to the 2020 census numbers, but this longer narrative text under Demographics is still all 2000 data. At some point it should be updated with the 2020 numbers. (I don't have time to do it today... but at some point I may if no one else does it before me.) - Dyork (talk) 18:15, 10 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
