Stadium name[edit]

@HSV1887: You claim the stadium name will be Lockhart Stadium. Do you have a supporting source for that? -- Pemilligan (talk) 20:16, 13 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

It seems like the stadium is actually called "Fort Lauderdale Stadium". Inter Miami CF To Make Historic MLS Home Debut on March 14, 2020: "...against five-time MLS Cup Champions LA Galaxy at the Club’s newly built Fort Lauderdale Stadium." BLAIXX 22:21, 13 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Blaixx: For a stadium project of this scope, I'm expecting an explicit announcement of the stadium name at some point, such as when naming rights are sold. The uses I've seen of Fort Lauderdale Stadium have the same weaknesses as Lockhart Stadium, in that they're the old stadiums that were torn down to build this one, that their use seems to be more a description of the location, and that they seem to be in use in lieu of an official name. I've seen nothing that makes me think either one is or will be the actual stadium name. -- Pemilligan (talk) 02:10, 14 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Pemilligan you bring up fair points, there's still a lot of time for the name to change before the start of the season. I'm guessing Fort Lauderdale Stadium will be the name because the team has updated their website ([1]) but we don't know for sure. BLAIXX 13:46, 14 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
In this video it's 'Lockhart Stadium' on the building. See also [2], [3], [4], [5].--HSV1887 (talk) 10:58, 14 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Those are old renders and are not indicitive of an official name. Those same images exist with "Inter Miami Stadium" on the signage in the first link you posted. BLAIXX 13:46, 14 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
USL says Lockhart Stadium [6], MLS says Inter Miami CF Stadium in Fort Lauderdale (no name) [7]. --HSV1887 (talk) 22:35, 27 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I'm pretty stumped. Maybe we call it "Inter Miami Stadium" for now – at least that is unambiguous? BLAIXX 23:04, 27 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Blaixx: Now it's "Inter Miami CF Stadium" on USL's website [8] and Inter Miami CF Stadium (or short Inter Miami Stadium) on intermiamicf.com. I think the article should be moved to "Inter Miami CF Stadium" or "Inter Miami Stadium" (I think this is more common). --HSV1887 (talk) 16:37, 11 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I would support a move to Inter Miami CF Stadium at this point in time. BLAIXX 22:31, 11 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
