The word 'scandal' is not suitable for an encyclopedia. "Allegations", "Controversy", "Issue" or some other LESS EMOTIVE, TABLOID word would be better[edit]

This is especially the case given there is a controversy regarding a possible wikipedia edit war between Hari and others. Wikipedia should not be using loaded words like these.Accurate Nuanced Clear (talk) 00:07, 5 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I changed it to "history." Wikimandia (talk) 05:05, 5 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Were these plagiarised quotes actually 'in lieu' of quotes from an interview of his own, or in addition?[edit]

Both this and the bio article leave this opaque. It would be far more serious if he used them INSTEAD of his own quotes, especially if he never conducted the interview at all. Indeed, the way the article is worded, it's open to interpretation in such a way that the reader may assume this more serious offence. Either way, we should know. Further research required.Accurate Nuanced Clear (talk) 00:14, 5 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

What is not clear? It says in this article: "The Independent suspended him in response to allegations that he had committed plagiarism by substituting quotations from other publications in lieu of his interviewees' actual recorded answers." In lieu of = in place of. In this article, where it says he apologizes, there is the link to his apology and he explains it if you need more details..
