A warning should be added to the sentence about credit cards, to alert readers that Chaturbate can and do use their access to banking details through a debit card, to upgrade membership to 'supporter' without notifying the user. Chaturbate Takes 50%[edit]

Tokens range from $0.10 to $0.079 depending on how many are bought, with most packages being around $0.08, and non credit card purchases such as Wires/Crypto being at a $0.08 rate. 0.05/0.08*100 = 62.5% of the earnings, therefore Chaturbate would be taking 37.5% Techfs (talk) 00:58, 18 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I think it's misleading to say "In addition, Chaturbate generates ...". As I understand, their revenue comes at the time the tokens are purchased (I would consider any "fee" at the time of payout to be cost of processing and administrative cost). That's roughly 50%, but would be 30% if tokens are purchased from an "affiliate" account with 20% "revshare" program. Suggestion for adequate description of the site[edit]

Suggestion to replace:

"The gender-specific categories are free to watch but viewers have to pay to join a private show"

with

"The PUBLIC LIVE PERFORMANCES OF THE STREAMERS, DIVIDED IN gender-specific categories, are free to watch but viewers have to pay to join a private show"

(The words in capital letters highlight the added text)

Opinion is that the actually description is excessively partial

Ok, Wikipedia's article isn't an advertise of Chaturbate, but it SEEMS (opinion) inaccurate at the moment.

Why? Because PUBLIC performances are free, privates aren't. Not only the visualization of the category is free.

Suggestion for website description.[edit]

Description "Pornographic Website" is misleading. A better description would be "Adult interactive live streaming platform" or similar description. Chaturbate hosts both nude and non-nude models, and both explicit and non-explicit content. The Wikipedia description as a "Pornographic Website" is misleading and has and does cause disagreements and arguments amongst Chaturbate broadcasters and viewers. Some viewers of non-nude models quote the Wikipedia description of a pornographic web site in disagreements about lack of nudity or explicit content.
