Another editor removed the {{notability}} template from this article, stating, without providing further details, that this "topic is notable enough to be covered in several books and magazines". Google Books doesn't indicate that there is any significant coverage (see this book search), nor does the Google News archive (see this news archive search). I am reinserting the tag and requesting that it not be removed unless someone provides evidence that the article meets the notability guidelines. ^Bongo_matic 14:55, 23 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

In response to a query on the editor's talk page, the editor replied:

Also, the citation to the "book" is published by a publisher whose stated philosophy is to wrap Internet content, such as Wikipedia content, as books. This cannot be considered to be a reliable source based solely on its existence. ^Bongo_matic 01:02, 25 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The subject is well known in shortwave listening circles, including the publications already mentioned. Because a WP editor has never heard of it doesn't mean it lacks notability. Relevant references from these would be useful to work into the article and settle the issue. I oppose deletion but support the idea of merging into the Lincolnshire Poacher page, possibly into the numbers station page itself. Geogene (talk) 01:29, 6 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

If this station was being broadcast out of humpty doo then it would have been broadcast from the humpty doo transmitting station which is actually operated by the Royal Australian Navy. Given Australia is a member of 5 eyes it is likely that the Australian Secret Intelligence Service were acting on behalf of SIS. OK so I edited it. ASIS, SIS, CIA, NZSIS etc. It's all five eyes. MI6 don't operate on Australian soil. ASIS would be the correct operator on behalf of five eyes/MI6/SIS and whatnot.
