Text moved from a faulty disambig page[edit]

This was in the disambig page for the phrase, and belongs with this article, IF its sourcable and accurate.

a traditional Hindu belief especially prevalent among Tamils that there is some secret hidden in the idol of Lord Shiva in the temple of Chidambaram The Space in Chidambara Rahasyam is an empty space within the sanctum sanctorum Here in Chidambaram to the right of Shiva, is the revered Chidambara rahasyam - garlanded with golden vilva leaves. The curtain in front of the Chidambara Rahasyam, represents Shiva (and Parvati) in the formless form (Aroopam) is lifted ceremoniously during worship services, and offered lamps. During every Aarti the curtain is raised three times by the priest and a dazzling brilliance, call it streak of lightening a cluster of stars; still it will be short of the truth. Is not the Supreme Truth inconceivable? That is what is conveyed by brilliance. This is the Chidambara Rahasyam Supreme Secret.Chidambaram, thus forms the one of the panchabootha sthalas (‘pancha’ – meaning 5, ‘bootha’ – meaning elements (earth, water, fire, wind and space) and ‘sthala’ meaning location). The others are the Ekambareswarar temple at Kanchipuram, where the Lord is worshipped in his manifestation as Earth, the Jumbukeswarar temple at Thiruvanaikaval, near Tiruchirapalli, where the Lord is worshipped in his manifestation as water, the Annamalaiyar Temple at Tiruvannamalai, where the Lord is worshipped in his manifestation as Fire and the Kalahasti temple at Srikalahasthi, where the Lord is worshipped in his manifestation as air/wind.

the secret of the Chitambaram temple can only be see by the knowledge not by the eyes ,but you can see a golden vliva garland hanging on the middle of the sanitarium this is symbolic message for the people .When you do deep meditation on this secret you will see it . If u really need it it would shown to you. I seen that it is a universal mechanism

Shiva’s dance is called the cosmic dance by many scholars. In Chidambaram, this dance is called ‘Ananda Tandava’ Lord Maha Vishnu also saw the Divine dance. In a nearby mantapa called Chitrakoota, Maha Vishnu, gives us dharshan in his fully reclining Yoga Nidra pose on the snake bed. If one stands on a small lotus sculpted on the floor slab in front of Narayana, one can at the same time see Nataraja in his right side!!!!Sages Patanjali and Thirumoolar also saw Nataraja’s dance in Chidambaram. Their figures are embossed on the Silver doors of the Chit Sabha.

Chit means Consciousness and ambaram means clothing or covering or sky. One who is Consciousness and covers Space! Chidambaram is Akasha Ksehtra of the Pancha Bootha Kshetras. The Swami Akasha Linga is invisible and we have to visualise the lord by his golden vilva hara. This explanation is for those less enlightened. On a higher spiritual level less enlightened (those who dwelve in Agnana) need a form to pray to while those who have attained enlightenment (Meignana) need no form to pray to.].

This is unreferenced, so im not adding it to the article, but maybe somebody can find refs and add it. This should at least be linked to the Hindi WP. if the article isnt there, is it notable?Mercurywoodrose (talk) 16:48, 26 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

As per a tamil daily newspaper,Dhina malar, the chidhambaram temple is situated at the magnetic center of the earth. the point of lord shiva's toe is the exact magnetic center of the earth. the chidambaram temple has been built based on the human body. The temple has 9 entrances as in humans. the roof has been built with 21,800 gold plates. this is the average number of times a person breathes in a day. these plates has been fixed with 72,000 golden nails. this is the number "naadis" a human body contains.
