Plot Summary[edit]

Child's Play is an introductory scenario to the 2nd edition rules, for beginning player characters.

I checked the cited source, Heroic Worlds by Lawrence Schick, page 117, and under the entry for "Child's Play" is says "Introductory scenario for beginning characters. 2nd Edition rules." 73.168.15.161 (talk) 03:49, 6 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I think I figured it out. On the back cover of the module, it says this:

This action-packed adventure module is especially designed to give beginning dungeonmasters and players help in learning the AD&D game system.

So, although it it high-level, it's aimed at "beginning DMs/players. I don't think the current edit makes that clear. Maybe we can clarify? Thoughts? Bill the Cat 7 (talk) 13:45, 6 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

It's a book, so I do not have a link. I couldn't tell you what the author meant, other than what you noted above as a possible meaning. If you think it doesn't make sense, maybe what it means is that it was meant as an introduction to the 2nd edition rules, given that it was published right around the time that 2nd edition came out? And maybe it was meant for new player charcters (characters created specifically for 2nd edition) rather than players who were brand new to D&D? Ok, how about revising it so that it reads like this?

Child's Play is high-level introductory scenario to the 2nd edition rules, designed for beginning dungeonmasters and player characters.
