Children's Hospital OaklandUCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Oakland – Back in 2014 the name of the hospital was changed when they decided to affiliate with UCSF. I tried moving the page back when I had little Wikipedia experience, but was quickly moved back and the person cited WP:COMMONNAME. I have returned to request a move after fully understanding WP:UCRN and WP:NAMECHANGES. To quote, "If the reliable sources written after the change is announced routinely use the new name, Wikipedia should follow suit and change relevant titles to match." Basically every reputable article written about the hospital since has used the new name. This page should be moved. Andrew nyr (talk, contribs) 17:38, 3 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • A merge would be more to the point for the two branches, since there is not enough special or different or particularly notable here for a separate article. DGG ( talk ) 03:27, 7 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@DGG:It is a requested move. Andrew nyr (talk, contribs) 05:17, 7 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I know that is what is being requested, but I think there is a better way of handling the article. But move it or not, I will try a merge subsequently. DGG ( talk ) 06:33, 7 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose. The current name is more concise and appears to be unambiguous, and any source that uses the longer name also uses the shorter one, trivially. Andrewa (talk) 16:37, 12 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
