Chimes of Freedom-Rock Band[edit]

The Chimes of Freedom were formed in Lansdale Pa in the late 1960s. An offshoot of The Back Porch Minority, based in Rhinebeck New York, the COF was fronted by Garie S., drummer and song writer. Although they never charted, released a single record, or had a gig, they were favorites of Lucinda M. The BPM's brain master was William "Billie Boy" D. Known for broadcasting their music from a 1950 Chevrolet during Uncle Dewitt's birthday celebration. The BPM invited Frank Zappa to play as their opening act, but he never responded to the invitation. Later, Billie Boy booked the Upstate Films building to show Zappa's "200 Motels". The massive response caused a near shut down of the down, filling the streets with more automobiles than when FDR and his dog Fila paraded through the town in the 1930s.
