Comment[edit]

I think Taiwan Public Television Service Foundation recently took over Chinese Television System. – Kaihsu 13:02, 4 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I worked on copy editing for the page. I'm not sure what to make of the Space Warriors (太空戰士) section. I tried to correct the grammar, but I'm not familiar with the program. I'm assuming that the colors are the names of characters and that the weapons are proper nouns. Duecez 5/31/2014. — Preceding undated comment added 01:38, 1 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Kelaparambu Family[edit]

Branches The Chayal Chengannur Vadackal Kelaparambu-- Contains six branches viz Karikottu, Maliyil, Varatharapallathu, Kattunilathu, Vathapallil and Kelaparambu. This family has the tradition back from the early day's of Chempakkasherry King. Where our forefather's were in ministrial service or chief advisor to the king.

Preface

The family history orignated from Chengannur-Forefather as known as Vadackal Mappila, who belongs to ministry-family working in the service of Chempakasherry King. Later his two son's continued in their forefather's path, One deployed in Chempakasherry, other deployed for ministry-service of Kayamkulam King. Their family name..Nllyackal or chempakasherry still exists in Kattanam, Pallickal sides of Kayamkulam Region. Traces have been found that we belongs to Jews converted to warrior group commonly known as Kshatryias before convertion into christianity by St thomas. Studies showed family originated from Malabar side in an area now before the reign of Tipu Sulthan. The persecution of early christians has caused them to flee from Malabar and settled here....

The Saga as told by forefathers.....

The history begins, with St. Thomas who landed on these coast in 52 AD and established seven and half churches. Of which one was known as Nilyackal or Chayal. Chayal on that time was one of the leading trading centre. At that era of time St. Thomas converted most of the high caste's family into christianity. One such person who accepted christianity at that era was Kelaparambu's first forefather named Vadackal Mappila Thaghuppan.
The legend goes like this as told by forefathers. Due to disturbance from the neighbouring regions like invasion, and animal's attack, most of the people started their settlement on the bank of pamba river. So along with, people's who migrated from chengannur were our forefather's, who establish their settlement under the house name Kaduvettur. After settlement our forefather started doing trading business with neighbouring regions, With their hardwork they prosper and become quite rich and affulent. As usual it was not liked by other family's which came along with us, for the same they were jealous of our family's fortune. They conspired and under the cover of deciet killed our forefather "Thaghuppan" on his way to a business tour. At that time our founder "Vadackal Mappila" or "Geevarghese" was in the womb of his mother. From his childhood, he was smart, healthy and good looking boy. At the age of 12, he got expert in ancient war-fare called kalari paittu.
Once when Little Geevarghese have gone for swimming, a neighbour's dog came straight to bite him, with his smartness, he killed the dog in a single shot, by a particular way of throwing a stone. At the age of 16-17, he came to know about the murder of his father under deciet, by some old peoples of other family's of the neighbourhood. After his father's death, the neighbours who involved in conspiracy were grown rich and affulent in both politically and materialistic, so it was not possible for him to avenge his father's death alone by himself, even though the fire of revenge was uncontrollable in his heart. He finally fled from that place and the knowledge which he gain from his kalari teacher, he soughted an admission to Malabars northern (vaddackan) kalari fighting school called kandothu to improve is martial skills (Only members belonging to Kstriyas family were allowed at that time to study this martial art even to people's who were converted from kstrayias family). Few years of training henceforth have made him expert in fight and ready to accept any challege. He was confidence in handling any challenges. However his mother was not aware of his well being or his martial training. She awaited, everynight praying for the return of her son and also praying (dhoopuprathana) for the soul of her husband. Eventhough this widower lead a lonely life in kadduvettur house, in despair and sorrow because her only son have deserted her and her husband was gone too. Neighbour's, even at that time showed no pity or gratitude to her except for the fact they were jovial that her only son has also left.
One night our family-hero returned to chengannur kadduvettur house, and he avenged the neighbour's house, who conspired against his father by cutting their throats (entire family members) and killing each of them. After that he met his mother and told her about his life spent at malabar and also about the killing of conspirator's. On seeing her son, after such long time and on hearing his confession of avenging his father, she immediately made him fled to her elder sister house named "koluthu" in Mepral in Chempakasherry. The head of kolothu house was then chief counsilor and advisor to the chempakasherry king. At that time border regions or Outpost were named vadackal's to protect the kingdom from attacks. The one of the summerpalace of chepakasherry king today is, where thalavady govt higher school stands. The ganapati temple which was constructed there was for the praying service for the king. Today's western side of Tokkanadi delta and southern side were under Ambalapuzha and kayamkulam king's respectively.
Once in a meeting with Chempakasherry king, the king asked the Koluthu's head that he need a trustworthy, smart, healthy person who is skillfull in warfare arts and also he should be suyriani(Christian), for looking after vadackal (Outpost's) region. If his will can be done, then it is well and good. The very next day "Kolothu" head took our Geevarghese(Thaghuppan) for the service of king. The king asked him to appear with a sword for a test. The king after consulting his Generals and advisors planned a test by hidding a bronze rod's in the trunk of banana. When Takkuppan appeared in front of the king's arena. The king summoned him to show his face, by clearing the path of banana trees with is sword. Taghuppan however sense the trap, he thought that iron rod were hidden in the trunk, so he cut off the trees in a special way an thus cleared the path and came face to face with king. The king very much impressed by his outsmartness immediately appointed him for protection of eastern border of chempakasherry--Vadackal outskirts. He also gifted him 200 para (unit of measurement used at that time) paddy field. A household area that can comprises of 68 rooms. plus an additional 4corner(nalluchira) land with river banks for settlement plus other incentives and workers to work under him. Inaddition he was also awarded the title of Vadackal Mappilla. and also a place too named as same. Thus the housename Vadackal came into being. Taghuppan have two son's who lived in Vadackal house. There is no news regarding his daughters.
His reference were also found in among the brave persons who have gone to get Ambalapuzha Krishnaswami Statue. The document stating that Vadackel Mapilla should be standing at the main part of the "Pingami chundan vellam"(a warboat) for bringing the statue is still kept in kudumallur illathu (House).
The kayamkulam king and Chembakkasherry kings were having brotherly relations at that time. Once in a meeting with Kayamkulam king, the Chembakasherry king boasted about his trust worthy's Nasrani's or Mappila minister. Getting the good impression, the kayamkulam king asked for giving him one trustworthy nasrani person as his chief counsilor. The chempakasherry king having no way to turn from this offer, sought the help of our Taghuppan. "There is no voice against king's promise", saying this with his heart full of sorrow he departed his second son for the service of chief advisor to Kayamkulam king. There the king have bestowed his second son with many lands, and churches and houses and workers. Even today the house name Nilyackal, Chempakasherry are still being held in kattanam and pallickal side of Kayamkulam.
After the reign of Kayamkulam and Chempakasherry kings. The elder son Shri Mammachen have setlled in Kelaparambu house. He married from tiruvalla kovur house. He had six sons, from which these six branches Karikottu, Malyil, Varatharapallathu, Kattunilathu, Vathapallil and Kelaparambu came into being. The second son' Shri Ommachan have two daughters and sons. The daughters were married to Niranams' Vadakkepurathu and Ekkapurathu household's. As requsted by Shri Ommachan, the Vadackel house was granted to him by the elder son of Shri Mammachan, today members of Karikottu family's still stays there. The generation of Shri Ommachan are being still existing in kattanam side and are well settled there. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jithin John K (talkcontribs) 10:12, 19 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
