On February 3, 2004, the Philippine Supreme Court sentenced to death by lethal injection Spanish citizen Paco and six others for kidnapping and murdering Marijoy and Jacqueline Chiong on July 16, 1997 in Cebu City .


Paco claims that he was in another city and only arrived in Cebu City on July 17 which is recorded at the Airlines of PAL. Rowena Bautista a teacher at CCA testified that Paco took his exams during the day in Quezon City. A city far from the scene of the crime. Friends testified that Paco was with them the night the crime occurred.
