As Ryu Chokumo (?)[edit]

I think Choun wrestled as Ryu Chokumo in Ice Ribbon but cagematch lists that as an unrelated person, who is also a woman. They share the same birthday and billed height/weight, but I can't tell if Choun was wrestling as a woman in early Ice Ribbon, or if it's something else. Was hoping someone more knowledgeable might be able to contribute something. Tresgrumpy (talk) 22:17, 25 January 2022 (UTC)Tresgrumpy[reply]

I'm guessing Ryu Chokumo is a bad transcription of "趙雲子龍" since 龍 can be read as "ryu", 趙 as "cho" and 雲 as "kumo". The oldest match for this Ryu Chokumo that you can find on Cagematch, from October 15, 2006, can be found in the official Ice Ribbon results here. The second match saw Ribbon Takanashi (who is Masa Takanashi) and Makoto face Choun Shiryu and Riho in a losing effort. His name is written 趙雲子龍 as usual. Furthermore, Ice Ribbon results as reported on PuroLove all have Choun as Chou-un Shiryu : http://www.purolove.com/joshi/iceribbon/results06.php
Now, maybe there is a Japanese/Chinese pun I don't get here and maybe Choun wrestled as a sort of female alter ego with its name read differently, but I'm fairly certain that Choun Shiryu and Ryu Chokumo are the same person. MordecaiXLII (talk) 14:52, 11 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
