There is consensus for a move, and "American football" is not sufficient as a disambiguator because in addition to the two safeties, there is also Chris Johnson (cornerback), and Chris Johnson (running back). Chris T. Johnson → Chris T. Johnson (safety, born 1960) – the Chris Johnson at Chris Johnson (safety) is "Chris T'Maul Johnson", so "T." is insufficiently disambiguous to indentify the topic of this article, per WP:PRECISE.
