I decided not to use in this article any of the material on lawsuits brought by an underage Jane Doe against several San Francisco Bay Area police departments, including Richmond. Among her 2016 legal actions, this June 2018 article concerns his former assistant chief and successor, Allwyn Brown. Her 2017 suit against Magnus personally and as former chief of police was settled in 2018; see this archived version of a February 2018 update to a now removed August 2017 news story.
