Half-Jewish?[edit]

Are we certain that Probst's mother was Jewish? Wouldn't it have been unusual by the early 1940's for someone of Jewish blood to be allowed to enter university in Germany? Or did his "mischling" status protect him?68.72.98.90 (talk) 18:00, 25 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please read the article carefully. His father remarried Elise Jaffée who was Jewish and not Probst's blood mother.

Lost in translation[edit]

This article is an almost verbatim translation from the German WP. However, in writing "He also requested a trial for the sake of his wife and three children, who were aged three years, two years and four weeks old. His wife, Herta Probst, was sick with childbed fever at the time", the translator apparently misunderstood one particular information in the German version: altough the choice of words there is a bit "cloudy", it is clear that Probst did not ask for a trial for his wife and children, but, during his own trial, for clemency for himself in consideration of his sick wife and underaged children. 2003:FB:E701:4284:4C00:DD0C:6D1F:6947 (talk) 14:06, 18 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
