Christopher CheungChristopher Cheung Wah-fungChina Daily uses Chingrish HK-style name. So do Associated Press, South China Morning Post, The Standard. Bloomberg uses the current name, but this person has been rarely mentioned outside Hong Kong media and Bloomberg itself. While using Google Books, I found that the name may be ambiguous because there are other people of the same name. --Relisted. • Support per nom. Use attested not only in Hong Kong, but also beyond (per AP). WP:ENGVAR As a HK politician, HK-style is relevant -- 65.94.43.89 (talk) 11:02, 26 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • oppose. there's no need to disambiguate at present, least of all to a nonsense potentially confusing convention not seen outside the sinosphere. -- Ohc ¡digame! 10:51, 30 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose – It is either we should change almost every article of a Hong Kong person from only their English name, for example Donald Tsang → Donald Tsang Yam-kuen, if we keep on applying the same rule and I do not think it is a good idea. So did the article Jasper Tsang Yok-sing which has already been moved. Lmmnhn (talk) 16:29, 3 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@User:Lmmnhn: There was no agreement to revert "Jasper Tsang Yok-sing" back to either Chinese or English name. Also, the article had title disputes without others noticing changes. Well, not the same for this one especially because there is not one title change. And, to let you know, because there was more than one Raymond Wongs, one page was moved from clumsy parenthetical disambiguation to Raymond Wong Pak-ming. --George Ho (talk) 16:59, 3 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Most of the time if there are more than two persons with same name we usually add their occupation in the end to signify it, such as Raymond Wong (film presenter). And also, I wonder if there are more than one Christopher Cheung now. Lmmnhn (talk) 17:18, 3 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Voters unanimously agreed on natural disambiguation rather than weird phrase "film presenter" used as a parenthetical disambiguation. And I don't want another move battle that violates less noticeable RM. Anyway, there are people named "Chris Cheung": Chef, Coogee Bay Hotel owner, computer programmer. There is a different "Christopher Cheung" but a politician named 'Christopher Cheung Shu-kun. --George Ho (talk) 17:32, 3 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I agree that "film presenter" is a weird phrase. I think that "director" or "film producer" would be a much better choice. Since I have not been involved in the discussion i will not further comment on it. I believe you are talking about Christopher Chung Shu-kun. Lmmnhn (talk) 18:06, 3 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I must be careful with typos. Anyway, I found company owner and a video game programmer. George Ho (talk) 18:18, 3 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose - we can play the WP:GHITS argument all day long for every single bio page related to Hong Kong. I'm still not onboard with the so-called "Hong Kong" style names that the IP users keep referring to. I'm also not convinced on the reliability and neutrality on sources from government funded media such as China Daily, unless it's the only WP:SOURCE available. There is going to be some difference for all of the lesser known people, we can keep arguing over every single one of them in the years to come, or establish a "consistency" format with their naming convention per WP:NC. Debate should only applies to exceptions such as the high profile ones, or ones with same names requiring WP:DABs. TheAvatar (discuss?) 15:18, 6 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
