Age[edit]

To all you nay-sayers who think he died at 31 years of age, does this [1] look like the face of a 31-year-old? Seriously? WWGB (talk) 12:29, 4 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Not Tails[edit]

I am at least 90% certain that the guy who voiced Tails was a different Christopher Welch. One, IMDB lists his credit for AoStH as just Christopher Welch, not Christopher Evan Welch. (IMDB mixes people up all the time, sadly. I've seen it happen on a project I've worked on myself.) Not only does this mean the Tails guy could have a different middle name, but this is considered a different name by Voice Actors' Guild rules. This also perfectly explains why some sources were reporting his age as 31 and others as 48. We can be pretty sure that Christopher Evan Welch is the one who died and that he was 48. Well, if Tails's voice actor is 48 now, he would have been about 28 when he voiced Tails. I don't find this very plausible; a 28-year-old male, even a professional voice actor, cannot do a real child's voice (very rare conditions notwithstanding). You can speed up a voice to make it sound child-like, but it still wouldn't sound like a real child. If Tails's voice actor is 31 now, however, he'd have been 11, which fits. And the only way somebody could be both 48 and 31 is if he's two people. While this has not definitively proven, it casts more than enough doubt to remove references to AoStH and Tails from the article for now, which I have done. - furrykef (Talk at me) 06:00, 5 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

My theory has been proven correct: http://segabits.com/blog/2013/12/05/op-ed-was-christopher-evan-welch-the-same-christopher-welch-that-voiced-tails/ -- furrykef (Talk at me) 21:33, 5 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
