Does this guy really fit Wikipedia's notability criteria? As far as I can tell, his claim to fame is that he's written one tune on a successful computer game. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.42.64.21 (talk) 03:33, 17 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I think he does! There are lots of people on wikipedia who have done things that have been notes less. I correct one detail: the lyrics of Baba Yetu is the Lords Prayer, not similar. --Kipala (talk) 13:08, 22 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

"Does this guy really fit Wikipedia's notability criteria?" I agree. This article is more like CV of an composer who is not really known and does commercial work and is emerging. Many of those. This info fits more a personal website than Wikipedia. Honestly, who cares about the undergraduate studies times, activities as a student, apprenticeship, etc. There are people who studied so seriously, and are not featured on wikipeida. Again, it is more like CV. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.60.9.252 (talk) 08:57, 19 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Well it seems its important enough now that hes the first to win a Grammy for a video game song. 88.208.180.233 (talk) 18:51, 24 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Mr. Tin's "video game song" Grammy is more correctly called the "Best Instrumental Arrangement Accompanying Vocalists" Grammy -- one of the few in which music of all genres (pop, classical etc) can compete against each other. http://www.grammy.com/NOMINEES Also for 2010, he won a 2nd Grammy for "Best Classical Crossover Album." http://www.grammy.com/NOMINEES Both are properly cited in the Wikipedia entry. An examination of the guest performers on his doubly-honored album show a long list of musicians with their own Wikipedia entries and Grammy awards to their credit. http://www.amazon.com/Calling-All-Dawns-Christopher-Tin/dp/B002YVYNFQ Free speech permits anyone to express an opinion. But Wikipedia's mission is to document the facts, and Mr. Tin's own Wikipedia entry speaks for itself. Rroberto18 (talk) 16:31, 9 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Chinese American?[edit]

The cat says he is Chinese American; if so, this should be added to the body of the article itself. Badagnani (talk) 02:29, 15 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Mr. Tin refers to his ethnicity in his own bio thusly: "He is a native Californian, born of Chinese descent..." http://www.christophertin.com/biography.html If any addition referring to Mr. Tin's ancestry is to be made, why not use his own words and avoid further debate? Just something really cool.[edit]

So, last year (my 12th year of high school) The band was putting on Baba Yetu for a concert. The band director had actually called Tin and asked for some help with the pice (maybe some sheet music or something) and permission to play it at the concert. He agreed, but only if he was the one conducting the pice. I didn't get to see him (I chickened out at the last minute) but I'm told he's a really nice and funny guy to be around.

So, I was wondering if this bit of info (if I pulled up articals from the paper in my town and such) should be put in this page. Thanks for reading! Yenrx (talk) 08:19, 11 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Kickstarter and 3rd album[edit]

I was looking at adding a section on his plans for a 3rd album, but couldn't figure out how to write it, so I'll add a list of sources I gathered

Primary - Youtube Video - Kickstarter page

Secondary - VGMO report

I couldn't find any other secondary sources except various fan forums and similar, which I don't think add anything over the primary sources and VGMO report

Offworld Trading Company[edit]

While it certainly was no "Baba Yetu", Christopher Tin is still at work producing video game scores, specifically the soundtrack to Offworld Trading Company (which if you haven't heard any of it I highly recommend you seek it out on Youtube real quick). Where on the page would it be most appropriate to document his work on it? --Scondoro2 (talk) 02:29, 15 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
