Redirect[edit]
The redirect to Zhuang was replaced with "A common Taiwanese last name." This is not appropriate because we do not separate articles on surname based on romanization system. Zhuang and Chuang are the same surname, and should have the same article. In addition, the surname is not limited to Taiwan, so the sub-stub is inaccurate. --Jiang 06:36, 21 July 2006 (UTC)
- Citation please. Zhuang refers to a racial group in China while Chuang is a last name in Taiwan. I can't see how to 2 tie in. There is no indication Zhuang and Chuang is the same last name. They are not.--Bonafide.hustla 08:27, 21 July 2006 (UTC)
Citation: Pinyin to Wade-Giles conversion table. "Zhuang" and "Chuang" refer to the same Chinese pronounciation, and can both either refer to the surname or the ethnic group. It is confusing to seperate them by romanization system both have been used for either. Before pinyin became prevalent 20 years ago, Chuang was used universally outside mainland China. Before pinyin was developed, mainlanders used Wade-Giles, and Taiwanese, being colonized by Japan, had Japanized surnames or before then, surname romanized according to min-nan. Besides, what else could you add to Chinese surname that is unique to Taiwanese?--Jiang 20:17, 21 July 2006 (UTC)
