Cindy and Shady Grove[edit]

What about the relation of "Cindy" to Shady Grove?? Especially the lines as

The first time I saw Cindy
She was standing in the door.l
Her shoes and stockings in her hands,
Her clothes all over the floor.

ref:

  I saw my Shady Grove
  Standing in the door
Shoes and stockings in her hands
Little bare feet on the floor

  I wish I had a needle
  Fine that I could saw....

v.

Wish I had a needle and thread
So fine that I could sow...

What do ye think?? Critto (talk)

Git along home Cindy[edit]

Josh White and Johnny Duncan (of "Last Train to San Fernando"-fame) recorded this song, too! Regards K.-H. 79.222.14.153 (talk) 15:54, 9 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
