I must note that I'm not the article's author, but since I can't honestly declare myself completely neutral in this kind of matters, I'll leave the final decission to another admin.

I believe this incident is relevant and has not been covered at Utah's Black Hawk War; I've taken the time to do a short research of online sources and I find no reason to believe it's less relevant in the context of said armed conflict than, say, the Meeker Massacre. The matter has been covered and studied on different papers and books, like "The Circleville Massacre: A Brutal Incident in Utah's Black Hawk War" by Albert Winkler, published by Utah Historical Quarterly, and "Mormon History" by Ronald W. Walker. I'd like this article to be given the opportunity to be expanded further and reviewed by Trödel, who has great expertise in Mormon subjects. Thanks for the cleanup and kind words - I'd have removed the tag myself if I was still up :) --Trödel 19:12, 16 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion[edit]

This article was nominated for speedy deletion. I have expanded it and removed the speedy deletion tag as well as adding a couple of relevant stubs. The link provided indicates that it was the worst massacre of the Black Hawk War and indicates that the incident has been written about by scholars. It seems notable enough for mine. Seems like support for merging the information to Antonga Black Hawk than for having an article on the specific subject. Compare to WWII - we don't have articles on every battle in which more than 1,000 were killed, or which could be termed, in retrospect, a massacre. And currently Utah's Black Hawk War which redirects to Antonga Black Hawk does not even mention this event. What do you think about merging those together and cleaning up the text and placing it all at Black Hawk War (Utah) with redirects from here and Antonga Black Hawk. --Trödel 16:17, 16 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Looks like the only discussion for merging was your own. Anon166 00:48, 17 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
The two stubs have been merged - all the information from both articles exists. If the Black Hawk War (Utah) article gets to big I'll support seperating them. It does no service to the encyclopedia to go around and create stubs which basically say the same thing. --Trödel 00:55, 17 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
It still looks like the only discussion for merging was your own. Others supported the article, but you seem to trying to erase it from the "Mormon-related controversies" category by merging. Anon166 01:15, 17 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
And yet none of them, so far, have opposed the merger. --Trödel 16:04, 17 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I oppose it. And I oppose the questionable methods used to merge it, which you don't deny. Anon166 03:14, 18 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
This can be broken out again if Utah's Black Hawk War gets too long. No sense in subdividing articles so finely when they're all stubs. Wikipedia policy speaks against it. Cool Hand Luke 20:10, 17 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
