Personal Evaluation[edit]

An initial reading of the article gave evidence of true development. The article gives useful content that can be used as a basis for understanding the idea and history of Civil Engineering Body of Knowledge. As its classification suggests there are some areas that are not as in depth and would encourage readers to look more at references in search of more detail for better motives and reasoning behind some actions taken.Am6320 (talk) 19:33, 3 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The article Civil Engineering Body of Knowledge is a very informative work that outlines the eras of which civil engineering has been in focus. It is one of the oldest engineering disciplines. The article should also incorporate ideas of how the discipline will grow in the future. Also the article should address the many obstacles civil engineering sees in the future.

Personal Evaluation[edit]

The article did seem neutral about the topic it covered. For the most part the citations did work and the links to other articles were correct. In terms of content I believe the article was relevant to the title and did a good job explaining in chronological order the progress of the CEBoK. Changes I would recommend include the following:

  • First sentence under "Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching (1918) is not complete
  • I believe under the title "ASCE Education Conferences (1960-1995) there is a mistake in the 4th sentence. Instead of "A 9168 joint study between ASCE..." the sentence should read "A 1968 joint study between ASCE..."
  • Under "Civil Engineering Body of Knowledge I believe the second sentence should say "this body of professional knowledge had three components.." since it only mentions three components but it says currently "this body of professional knowledge had four components..."

Lead rewrite - Sept 2018[edit]

The body of the article does not seem to match the lead. The lead focuses on the ASCE BOK, while the article has expanded since it's original version to become more of a history of all efforts at a civil engineering BOK. If the lead is rewritten, then several of the older sections towards the end of the article may need rewrites or reorganization. - ¢Spender1983 (talk) 03:49, 26 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
