History of the Classroom?[edit]

What is the history of the classroom? What did they use before this? It looks like the classroom spontaneously formed as the norm for schools.117.221.178.181 (talk) 15:16, 5 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Classroomn.com[edit]

Going to this website attempted to route to http://corporate.classroomn.com and subsequently froze my PC. Reference to such a commercial site probably should be deleted anyway. Simesa (talk) 10:23, 11 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I changed the link to classroom.com , but it's still commercial. Leaving for an expert to consider. Simesa (talk) 10:49, 11 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Notability[edit]

Are we at such a mundane point that we are creating articles over these very general topics, Classroom, Prayer meeting, etc? Is anyone going to start wondering what a classroom really is and say, "I should go look that up on Wikipedia"? Perhaps this is not the best place for this type of discussion, should I go elsewhere? Svyerkgeniiy (talk) 01:18, 6 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The same thing can be said about the article on food yet it's currently quite comprehensive, topics such as water, chair, table, can fall under a similar category. This article is obviously incomplete, however opportunities for expansions are available. Sections can be created on the history of classrooms, types, region specific classroom and so forth. WP:N would be a good place to discuss this. YuMaNuMa Contrib 01:47, 6 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Major cleanup anyone?[edit]

Is anyone else considering a major cleanup or re-write of this article? It is quite banal, has a definite lack of structure, non-neutral POV attitude, and has a lot of duplication. I am preparing to undertake this if nobody else is. FYI, there is now an article that deals with classrooms and similar spaces in a broader context - see Learning space and Learning environment.

Worldwide view[edit]

Although it doesn't mention it explicitly, the entire written portion of the 'Types of classroom' section is about the United States. So I'm adding the 'worldwide view' message to it and moving the information from that section into a subsection called 'In the United States'.
