Most of this article's biographical data is pulled from here http://www.af.mil/AboutUs/Biographies/Display/tabid/225/Article/107747/major-general-clayton-lawrence-bissell.aspx.

It's an official, Air Force website, so it's probably true. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mthibode (talkcontribs) 04:28, 29 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Sworn Deposition and not Disposition[edit]

This is the author of English-speaking Witnesses to Katyn - you can reach me at researchingkatyn@gmail.com

On May 10, 1945, at SHAEF Headquarters in Paris, in the presence of a JAG attorney assigned to the War Crimes Unit, John H. Van Vliet, Jr. was deposed under oath - i.e. a sworn deposition. A disposition is something completely differenct.

If you have any questions please fee free to contact me - otherwise, please reread the news article you reference. Thank yo. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 172.58.200.195 (talk) 22:26, 29 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Year or birth 1893 or 1896?[edit]

Bissell's grave at Arlington Nat'l Cemetery claims "1893" whereas all the usual AF.mil sources going back to the 1953 AFHRA Historical Study 91[1] claim "1896." I've added this to the list of things to research when I return to AFHRA in Sep-Oct 2022 where hopefully I can settle this matter :-) Rob Rosenberger (talk) 03:10, 10 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
