If this brawl has its own page on here, then listed under it should be the original clemson usc brawl in 1983, see the video on youtube: HERE —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.59.108.155 (talk) 02:59, 8 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
IMO, I don't think that there is any question about the notability of the content of the article. It is one of the more recognized episodes in college sports bout a lack of sportsmanship being displayed by the athletes involved.--CobraGeek (talk) 19:36, 8 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

agreed, notability I think is definitely obvious. Clemson has 14,172 undergrads and 3,137 grad students. University of South Carolina has 18,648 undergrads and 8,742 grad students. This bitter rivalry has gone on for over 105 years, and is quite important to residents of South Carolina, be they Clemson (Tommy Bowden) or South Carolina (Steve Spurrier) fans. Furthermore, the Pacers, Pistons brawl (which happened 1 day prior to this brawl) : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pacers-Pistons_brawl is widely accepted to be notable, as well as the Miami FIU brawl : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Miami-FIU_brawl (which does not have the 105 years of history behind the rivalry) has been recognized as being notable. Clearly the notability should not be in dispute. This document should serve to identify the parties involved, and the fact that Lou Holtz has admitted his retirement contributed to a lack of control which led to the brawl : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lou_Holtz Reverseknarf (talk) 05:26, 9 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I am a Clemson historian, and I will try to come up with some appropriate references on this event. I promise. Mark Sublette (talk) 23:24, 15 January 2010 (UTC)Mark SubletteMark Sublette (talk) 23:24, 15 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Recent edit-warring[edit]

Gentlemen, I have observed the recent edit-warring between the various pro-Clemson and pro-USC editors. Might I make a suggestion, one that I believe would go along way toward resolving this petty dispute and overcome the attempts by partisans to portray the other "side" in a more negative light? I urge you to only make changes that are supported by one or more on-line newspaper accounts or other on-line sources that are included in properly formatted footnotes. Any facts that are added to this article should, in accordance with well-established Wikipedia policy, be WP:Verifiable. As a non-South Carolinian, I am also willing to offer my services as a non-interested, neutral go-between to help resolve any further content disputes. Anyone interested? Disturbance?[edit]

Is this really considered a "disturbance"? If this was not in a college level game (which has different rules and laws to govern it on the campus), this would have ended in many arrests. A disturbance, to me, would be the shoving match at the pre-game, not the riot (which is what the initial "disturbance" mention links to) that the game turned into. 108.90.81.144 (talk) 08:14, 12 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I think you make a good point and it's worth a change. I'll alter it; see if you agree or not.--LesPhilky (talk) 15:18, 13 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
That works. Fight or Brawl works well. 108.90.81.144 (talk) 06:40, 26 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
