What I added is a bit silly, but I found it in the news. I'm not trying to make fun of my own faith or anything. I'm not necessarily making fun of football fans either, although I might be a little. Still it is a sourcable element of the deal.--T. Anthony (talk) 23:43, 24 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Query[edit]

The article calls this an "international football tournament", but to my mind that term refers to a tournament where the teams represent various different countries. Although some/many foreigners apparently take part, all the teams themselves represent clubs/institutions within the Vatican City. Calling this an "international football tournament" would be like calling the English Premier League an "international football tournament" because it has a lot of foreign players in it. I move that the word "international" be removed...... -- ChrisTheDude (talk) 15:11, 15 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Truthfully, almost none of these institutions are located in Vatican City. The Pontifical North American College is located in central Rome, the Pontifical Roman Seminary is located near the Archbasilica of St. John Lateran, etc. Many of these colleges are listed at Roman Colleges, if one was looking for more information. However, I agree that the phrase "international tournament" normally implies national teams from several countries are taking part, not when what in the US would be called "collegiate" teams from several educational institutions of an international character are participating. Some better phraseology should be found. Gentgeen (talk) 11:46, 16 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
