The result of the move request was: moved. Per nomination. The nominator's arguments were more compliant to our naming policies than the oppose rationale. Noting that a redirect page to another page with content not establishing validity of the redirect would typically get RfD'd, especially so when a more suitable content exists to take its place. Cleveland Challenger → Cleveland Open (tennis) – i don't know even why it was chosen "Cleveland Challenger" in the first place. The title of the tournament on both the website and the official draw was "Cleveland Open" since its start. Do i need to mention other examples like Bengaluru Open, Zadar Open, Sarasota Open in support of the retitling?? 82.49.125.173 (talk) 12:13, 18 March 2022 (UTC) — Relisting. Oppose – Cleveland Open (tennis) already redirects to Grand Prix Cleveland so I had named it at Cleveland Challenger, as it is literally a Challenger tournament in Cleveland Adamtt9 (talk) 12:49, 18 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
If you had the time to check those links you would have found out that:

1) Cleveland Open (tennis) was never the name of Grand Prix Cleveland, that name was literally assigned out of someone's hat. That was already pointed out (13 years ago!) in the "view history" of Cleveland Open (tennis).

and

2) in the aforementioned "view history" there is already a redirect to Grand Prix Cleveland which is ATP Cleveland.

So, we can just leave that one on, and move the Cleveland Challenger to its real and official name, Cleveland Open (tennis). 82.49.125.173 (talk) 00:53, 19 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Support. The name has to be changed, as Cleveland Challenger is not the name of the tournament. I see no reason why Cleveland Open (tennis) should redirect to Grand Prix Cleveland. If needed, this could also be moved to Cleveland Open (tennis, 2019). Mannysoloway (talk)
