Making some edits[edit]

I am a colleague and former PhD student of Cliff, who has asked me to add a little to the page. I have read the appropriate biography guidelines and will endeavour to follow them as much as possible! In particular, I am not adding substantive or opinionated, but removing incorrect information and adding a little extra. Please feel free to contact me if needed. You may want to take a look at WP:COI. -Kj cheetham (talk) 14:19, 18 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I have added FREng as post-nominal, despite its removal a while ago by Gareth Jones because I looked carefully at the policy and as Hawking is given FRS in that example, FREng seems appropriate here given the relative status of the societies. I also looked at Tony Hoare's page and he has FREng. However I am fully prepared to be corrected on this.Tastarte (talk) 12:01, 18 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

That post-nominal seems fine to me. -Kj cheetham (talk) 14:18, 18 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I added a recently-published book to the list of books. However, I'm confused by the ISBNs. There are two for the new book, which I've listed on the page. ISBN guidance says where there are different editions with different ISBNs these should be specified. But many of the other books end in -X. Is this intended to indicate multiple versions too? Should I do that for the new book? They differ by more than just the final digit, though; so how should that be handled? (Am I overthinking this?). Tastarte (talk) 12:25, 18 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Just to comment on ISBNs, the last digit is just a Check digit and nothing to do with whether there are multiple verions or not. -Kj cheetham (talk) 14:18, 18 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
