Strong Keep. Cliff Turney was the foremost authority on teacher education in Australia. For thirty five years he worked as a researcher at an important University, serving as senior administrator. • Could you provide some sources for this (mentions in books, newspapers, etc. Generally, a researcher/professor at a university isn't enough. --Darksun 12:53, 11 April 2007 (UTC)

Non NPoV

I removed the following paragraph, as it seemed very PoV and not all that relevant

"Meeting Turney for the first time, one might be struck by any of many different things. Turney was a gracious host, deflecting personal praise to the deserving. On more than one occasion, he had deflected a compliment about overhead transparencies employed in a session to the deserving author, his wife. Or one might hear his larrikin spirit. On the second floor of the Madsen Building, in the Early 80's, Turney bowled a few deliveries down the corridor, where doors were made of glass. Not recklessly, but fun. Turney had the talented educator’s skill of letting others find the correct answer. He didn’t need to point or hint, but through gentle, wry humor, he did much. He had another talent that made him an exceptionally good educator, he had an eye for the apt anecdote. When he had educational videos made, the incidents illustrated were natural and excellent illustrations."

While the changes made so far to the article make it seem less like a CV, I think the whole article is bordering on PoV, it reads more like a newspaper obituary than an encyclopedia entry. --Darksun 18:23, 15 April 2007 (UTC)

Darksun, you have involved yourself heavily with this article. On two occasions you have referred it for deletion. It is yet to be determined if you are successful in that, but you have also argued, passionately, on issues. I think you should excuse yourself from further involvement with this article.

I will leave this paragraph in discussion. It is not inappropriate to provide anecdote in a biography. It is not inappropriate to refer to the peculiarity of larrikinism in an Australian Professor.

I have not started on his research .. and in light of your obvious antagonism (which may be directed at me, or at Cliff), I will let others do that. Hopefully if I excuse myself, you will do the responsible thing too. DDB 11:36, 16 April 2007 (UTC)

The article is excellent informing the world about an important person in the field of education in Australia. When we talk about how to teach subject matter to children, we need to thank Cliff Turney for teaching many teachers how to do this. He is still doing so through his books.
