Climate movement[edit]

This article is not about the climate movement globally - it is really about the US climate movement. Either the page should be renamed or the article should be restructured and expanded so that it covers the climate movement globally/in all countries. Expanding the History Section[edit]

The history section should mention what series of events led to the boom of this movement in the late 21st century. It mentions that major environmental organizations began talking about climate, but the article would be better if it talked about why the organizations began to notice climate more and more. The history itself is rich, especially regarding the social aspect and growth of climate change. It would be interesting to know which countries led the movement and how they influenced other countries.Torybigelow (talk) 06:36, 6 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Institutional Climate Activism[edit]

There have been coalitions of institutional investors that have promulgated climate activism.^[1] These initiatives have sometimes included expansive group efforts, such as Climate Action 100+ - a coalition over 300 institutional investors (including some of the largest greenhouse emitters).^[2] Institutional activism is not uncommon, despite the common assumption that shareholder interests would be averse to such action.^[3] However, industry-wide efforts to mitigate climate risks is often in the interest of heavily diversified firms, as climate change can have a strongg effect on the global economy.^[4] Cf2022 (talk) 07:15, 4 January 2021 (UTC)CF2022[reply]
