Succession box[edit]

DEAD?!?![edit]

He's not dead! Certainly not 2 years ago anyway... He was on QI.

To add to my point this page has been defaced with reference to the spoof Brass Eye. IN which case it is VERY inaccurate as Brass Eye went out in 1997/8 so the said incident could not have taken place in 2004. Get your facts right if you want to plagarise Chris Morris.

That was part of a satirical show called Brass Eye which was made by Chris Morris, part of a fake news report, during one of the episodes.--Welshsocialist (talk) 22:12, 6 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Second Tim on the reliability of Clive (and the BBC; although it was more light entertainment than thorough journalism). He's a national treasure! ;-) I did particularly like the section in the programme where he turned the spotlight onto the entry for "cat" in the early editions of some of our esteemed "paper and ink" rivals. "Cute but unencyclopedic" gah...I thought it rounded the paragraph of nicely....(regarding the removal of the fact that Clive wondered at the end of program whether the program would cause this page to change)...

I'm not going to edit the page and put it back, but I thought it belonged there...perhaps somebody could wrap up his actual quote in a more 'encyclopedic' manner and make suitable for the main article...

Free content image[edit]

I have a pic (about twenty pics, one is bound to be usable) of Clive Anderson I took for this page. They're currently on my work laptop, but I should have that home and be able to upload the pic early next week - David Gerard 20:26, 25 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Barrister[edit]

While the article does not indicate any prominent cases Anderson was involved with, it seems desirable that his former occupation is given in the resume, if only as an indication of the approach he uses in his work. "Criminal law" did seem an unnecessary elaboration though, so I have cut it from the introduction. The use of "barrister turned comedy writer" in the caption on the relevant page of Radio Times for the "Story" programme was surely meant as a compliment to this site, another reason to keep it. There is no question he is known as a former barrister, I'd rather put the comedy writer first but couldnt reword it in a way I liked so I have left it and I do agree that the barrister is notable enough for the opening, SqueakBox 21:14, 25 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Quite, I've restored it. User:David_Gerard supervised the change. I think people are forgeting that things like WP:Cite are guidelines, not rules and should be implemented in conjunction with WP:Use common sense. John 20:30, 29 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I can also confirm that he did make that edit, as featured on the radio programme. I originally added it to the article.
