This says, "Code page 932 contains standard 7-bit ASCII codes". However, I think this is not strictly true -- the backslash \ is replaced by the Yen symbol ¥ I do believe. Cmcqueen1975 (talk) 08:08, 19 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You're mistaken -- look at the Unicode mapping table:

0x5C 0x005C #REVERSE SOLIDUS

The Microsoft mapping tables are the same.

Yes, I know that the linked Microsoft documentation appears to show a Yen symbol at that position. However, don't believe what your eyes are telling you -- that's actually a U+005C REVERSE SOLIDUS ;-). MS-DOS code page 932[edit]

There needs to be a section mentioning the specics of the DOS variant of code page 932 which has some box drawing characters in the 00 to 1F range, though that's the variant used by DOS for PC. Then there is the variant used by the PC-98's text mode which uses one DBCS lead byte to a group of line/box drawing characters that render with a single byte. - 94.140.73.150 (talk) 15:44, 14 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
