Claims of going without shoes for last 20 years[edit]

I've edited the text to reflect this as a claim, not a fact. It sure looks like those are shoes he's wearing in in 2004. - LuckyLouie (talk) 21:51, 14 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Those look like layers of socks to me. In one of the Dual Survivor episodes he traverses a snowy landscape wearing only socks, refusing shoes. In another he fashions sandals out of an old tire and explains that he sometimes wears sandals, but never shoes. I don't think his claim to going without shoes for 20 years is so far fetched that we can't take him at his word.67.61.88.109 (talk) 16:56, 27 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with the IP this aside from being unprovable from just the footage is very likely a few layers of nylons and a tennis type "shoe" (Not really a shoe more like a sandal) to increase his surface area. I agree I think it is not unbelievable to not wear shoes particularly since he does acknowledge wearing sandals. So in short I think it is fact that he has not worn any shoes these years. Age[edit]

I think Cody is much older than 35. Can someone check please? Answer: The backpacker.com article from September 1999 stated that Lundin was 32 at the time.

I can't find any sources to back this up, but I actually spoke to him recently about his age and he said his birthday was 1976-10-08. Given that the birthdate is already original research, I'm going to change it to what I think is at least accurate original research. Career reads like a resume[edit]

Added the peacock tag because its really just a list of his accomplishments and coverage. Its probably taken from promotional material. Needs far more NPOV and cleanup.

False college degree claims[edit]

Lundin claims to have a BA in "depth psychology" and "holistic health" from Prescott College but those majors are NOT offered. If you google "prescott college depth psychology," you'll see what I mean... 206.71.239.16 (talk) 20:35, 11 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

On Lundin's own website he says "1988 - 1991 BA Depth Psychology and BA Holistic Therapies, Prescott College, Prescott, AZ"

What you are doing here, is engaging in what is called "Original Research" or "Synthesis". If you have evidence that he actually falsified those claims, then please present a source making that assertion. Cody claims to have taken those courses in 1988-1991. Colleges, particularly ones that offer "non-traditional" degree concentrations like Prescott, often change their available degrees over time, and it's patently absurd that the fact that 22 years after the fact they don't offer the same degrees means that he's lying. I'm going to delete your "Dubious" tag, as you are clearly trying to create "drama" where there is no REPUTABLE SOURCE claiming that there is an issue...and you've violated quite a few Wikipedia rules with your allegations. --Bryon Morrigan -- Talk 23:33, 31 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Product Promotion[edit]

The sentence under the "Dual Survival" subheading, "Lundin's most frequently used knife on the series was the Mora Classic 1," seems to promote a commercial product while adding little or nothing to the person bio it purportedly supports. As a relatively new editor, I don't know for sure if this violates Wikipedia's guidelines. Perhaps a more experienced editor could review this and make a decision. I would agree with you on this. I've removed the sentence. It seems irrelevant and simply promotes an item. Unless there is something special about a Mora 1 knife, I see no reason to keep it. Anyone else have any opinions on the matter? Zell Faze (talk) 12:11, 28 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
