Untitled[edit]

I removed this letter from the main article as it is not really relevant, but I'm leaving it here for those who are interested. Ydorb 18:31, 31 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

"Dear Mrs. Rowley, It has come to my attention that you have placed on your campaign website a doctored photo of me in which my military uniform has been replaced by a Nazi uniform. I demand that you immediately remove from your website that outrageous and disgusting insult to me, my family, and every man and woman who has ever worn a military uniform in defense of our country.

No one knows better than I the rough-and-tumble of a political campaign, but we owe it to the voters not to cross the line of civility, respect and common decency. With regard to each of these, you have clearly crossed the line by portraying me as a Nazi.

I demand a personal apology from you, as well as an apology to every veteran.

Your attempts to smear my good name and 25 years of honorable service in the United States Marine Corps by equating me to a Nazi shows a lack of perspective, a lack of seriousness, and a lack of good judgment. You should be ashamed of yourself.

Sincerely,

John Kline Member of Congress - Minnesota's 2nd District."

Revision needed[edit]

This paragraph is very misleading:

Representative John Murtha (D-PA) endorses Rowley. He visited the district during the campaign and held a rally for Rowley with veterans at the local VFW. The Rowley campaign subsequently focused efforts on veterans' groups and others with experience that relates directly to the war in Iraq. By the middle of October Rowley had hundreds of veterans volunteering for her campaign and supporting her.

The rally at the VFW wasn't with veterans, it was with her left-wing supporters. Most veterans were outside protesting against her, and especially against Murtha. I probably shouldn't edit it, since I was there, so it would be original research, but it was in the news plenty, since one veteran (and Kline volunteer) got out of hand and made a fool of himself. Besides, this paragraph isn't sourced, and I doubt there were anywhere near hundreds of veterans even supporting Rowley. They overwhelmingly voted for Kline. Disabled American Veterans[edit]

According to the Disabled American Veterans, Kline has been the worst of any Minnesota Representatives in supporting veterans' issues since he took office in 2003 on issues related to disabled veterans.[1] The assessment is based partially on Kline's votes against the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2007 and the Melancon of Louisiana Amendment - Military Quality of Life and VA Appropriations, FY2006 and other votes.[2]

The link provided provides a rundown of votes Kline made, not an assessment of how his performance on veterans' issues, secondly, this article is about Coleen Rowley, not John Kline. Torturous Devastating Cudgel 19:19, 22 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • Agreed. I changed the wording based on the source and removed some Kline issues that I could find sources for. --Appraiser 21:21, 22 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
