Die Kraniche des Ibykus?[edit]

> Tony strangles him with a length of wire as Petrulio pleads for his life

Afterwards a flock of birds fly overhead, possibly cranes, Tony is bewildered and looks after them. Reminds me of the German poem Die Kraniche des Ibykus based on the life and murder of a legendary Greek poet--he gets murdered and the same happens with the birds, who would haunt the murderers.
