This article is written in British English with Oxford spelling (colour, realize, organization, analyse; note that -ize is used instead of -ise) and some terms that are used in it may be different or absent from other varieties of English. According to the relevant style guide, this should not be changed without broad consensus.

Moving article back to original title[edit]

This article started out as "colour centre". British spelling was used in both the title and the first article text. In 2012, user Desoham3 moved the page to "color center", which was a violation of Wikipedia's Manual of Style policy regarding different varieties of English. Since the topic has no strong ties to any English-speaking nation, the article should have stayed where it was started. Acopyeditor (talk) 10:58, 23 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Move to Visual Cortex article?[edit]

I recommend deleting this entry and incorporating appropriate bits into the Visual Cortex article. First, one must be very circumspect in attributing a brain function to a single "center" or "centre." The article disagrees with itself by admitting that "colour stimuli [...] activate multiple areas in the brain." Second, the article makes much ado about an "area V8" whose existence was claimed by one group 21 years ago but since then, "V8" has gained hardly any traction and for now there appears to be insufficient justification for this new subdivision of visual cortex. Also, the image titled Colour centre has a citation in Japanese, which makes it hard to verify its origin. I recommend deleting the image from Wikipedia, as it includes this dubious "V8" area while not including some established functional areas. Thinksthanks (talk) 23:23, 18 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
