Re: Various changes[edit]

Raphael Benjamin West is not a resident of Columbia; he is totally deceased. I moved mention of him from "Notable Residents" (which would seem to indicate people now residing in the city) to the paragraph discussing famous historical personages.

Samuel Watkins was never a resident of Columbia. He lived in the Zion community west of Columbia in unincorporated Maury County. His former home, which still stands on Old Zion Road (though greatly modified, has been annexed into Mount Pleasant. I therefore removed mention of him from the article.

Cleared up minor extraneous "the" from discussion of Daltry Calhoun and clarified that the film was made in Columbia (therefore, justifying mention in the article) and elsewhere in Maury County.

Added Cowboy Troy to notable residents, as I believe he still lives in town. If he's moved on, do remove.--Spewey 20:25, 23 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Lynchings[edit]

Removed the content. No one was "hanged by a mob here yesterday." The wording suggests that the article was plagiarized, and the source publication doesn't appear in any standard reference lists. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Spewey (talkcontribs) 04:25, 17 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Rules of WP at the beginning are missing here ![edit]

The rules of WP about respect, NPOV, etc. are missing at the beginning on this page! --194.230.159.101 (talk) 10:37, 7 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The section about Columbia race riot of 1946 is so huge, so many information, which are now in the article very incomplete. This huge subjects allways have an own wp article. Thats normal. Im doing a new article now. If you have a serious argument against it, say it here. If the argument is not serious, it is against the rules of wp. --194.230.159.101 (talk) 10:42, 7 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
