Infobox image removed[edit]

My fellow Wikipedians, I just, after a bunch of research on the subject (consulting the Manuals of Style, looking at other pages' "Edit source" pages, likely some other stuff), removed the image of a map of the counties of Spain from the infobox where it lay(ed). At first, my intention was to provide an English translation of the image's caption (in this case the description of the image not on the image's own page, nor on the article. It appeared once one clicks on the image: that kind of caption), as this is the English Wikipedia. But as I researched into those MoSs. I realized that the map was of counties, not comarcas. Therefore, I decided to conclude my research early, and to then fully replace the image from the article.

Thank you, and good midday. Vive la Franks (talk) 17:29, 12 April 2021 (UTC) (I think is what I'm supposed to put)[reply]

It's not clear what the deleted map represents, certainly not the modern administrative division of Spain. It's better to leave it out of the page. --Jotamar (talk) 18:12, 12 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Shire[edit]

Why is there no mention of the actual closest English equivalent/translation of Spanish “comarca”, which is the word “shire” (and NOT “district,” “county,” “area,” “zone,” nor “region,” each of which translates distinctly differently into Spanish as “distrito,” “condado,” “área,” “zona,” and “región,” rather than “comarca”)? BTW, the famous “Shire” in Tolkienʼs “Lord of the Rings” is translated into Spanish as “La Comarca,” as it should because no other translation would be a better match. 92.178.80.48 (talk) 06:54, 27 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Isn't shire kind of an old-fashioned word? --Jotamar (talk) 22:20, 27 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
