Commanding versus peacetime general[edit]

I suggest the title of this page be renamed to Ulysses S. Grant as commanding general, 1865-1869 rather then Ulysses S. Grant as peacetime general, 1865-1869. There were over 100 Indian battles under President Johnson as the U.S. military was pacifying the West. Also there was violence against African Americans during Reconstruction. Yes, that makes sense. --Coemgenus (talk) 19:03, 11 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Outside opinion[edit]

At the Ulysses S. Grant main article two editors want to include mention of President Grant signing an act establishing national holidays and two editors oppose. Opinions for and against are numerous and can be found at Talk:Ulysses S. Grant. Outside opinions are needed and welcomed. -- Gwillhickers (talk) 20:57, 29 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
