To Whom it may concern,

This page should not be speedily deleted because… It deals with medals of historical importance. It is an expansion from the existing page Orders,_decorations,_and_medals_of_SFR_Yugoslavia . It deals with European history and is relevant in any encyclopaedia wishing to fully encompass the history of mankind. Information about historical medals are just as worthy of Wikipedia pages as any other award active today. To question the encyclopaedic relevance of any WW2 or other official medals in recognition of bravery is somewhat absurd. They represent not just those who survived and were subsequently awarded but also the thousands who perished and sacrificed their lives for a freedom that most people take completely for granted today. Veterans awarded this particular medal are still alive today. If you read what is written about the medal, it clearly states why this medal was also unusual in providing specific benefits to veterans up until recently, despite the dissolution of Yugoslavia.

I am new to Wikipedia and learning the ropes, all help appreciated. Thank you. --AVofficial (talk) 17:30, 23 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
