Opening comment[edit]

Is it just me or does this whole page sound conspicuously like an advertisement?

    • Expanding external links:

Dear All -

I recently proposed a link to a California centric website with a detailed review of Commerce. I though the article was generally very well written and informative. The article complemented the existing poker content rather well. I feel our visitors will be looking for more information relative to the games, stakes and tournaments offered.

The article displays some forms of advertising however. There is an add to "full tilt poker" on the right hand side although the intent is surely not malicious. Finding out more about this particular site, I was told the intention is to create an authority site for Californian poker players. This clearly transpires from the quality of the content.

If we are not going to add this link, then I would like some proposals from the members here. I feel there is a real deficit of poker content for the commerce entry. Let's not forget that Commerce is the largest poker room in the world. People visiting this entry will likely be playing their games in a not so distant future.

Also, please recommend substitute articles that are free of any forms of advertising ideally. I would like these to give an overview of all the poker games offered including schedule.

All the Best,

The source of the review was here [1]

PS: I am not very well versed in the wikipedia process, these are my first posts. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Delonge182 (talkcontribs) 02:04, 18 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Rake[edit]

What is their rake structure for various games? Funkyj (talk) 19:44, 6 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I think there should be more structure information in an encyclopedia article. I will be looking for a chance to update the articles on cardrooms where I play and I would like to see such information on cardrooms I have not visited, like this one. Some examples of what I think should be included:

As someone already asked, the rake or time charge should be noted, at least of the more popular games.

The buy-in for no-limit and pot-limit games might be noted. California casinos have a reputation for absurdly low maximum buy-ins, such as forty big-blinds. I would like to know if this is deserved. 65.79.173.135 (talk) 21:48, 14 January 2009 (UTC) Will in new Haven 65.79.173.135 (talk) 21:48, 14 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Non-Poker Games?[edit]

We call these California Games, as the rules have been modified. How would Pai-Gow Poker and Carribean Stud Poker be considered in a "non-poker" section? They are certainly types of Poker, just as chinese poker is played in the high limit poker section of our casino. I am a Commerce employee. Why did someone refer back to the incorrct version? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 207.214.63.254 (talk) 02:33, 9 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
